The boys bathroom was completely built from scratch and I didn't have a lot of room to work with. We enclosed the front entryway and expanded the roofline out about 6 ft. So we could make a 4th bedroom and add a jack and jill bath. The quarters are REALLY tight! As you can see from my 8 year who is standing in the bathroom. The actual bathroom with the vanity area ended up being approx. 14 ft X 8 ft wide. I can't believe we pulled it off but we SQUEEZED this baby in there and in style too! Below is the mood board and resources I used to create this bathroom.

I was going for a very minimal modern vibe and I wanted to make the space feel as large as possible. So I pulled out a couple tricks! Here they are:

1. Floating vanity.

Because the room is VERY narrow I wanted to be able to see as much floor as possible to give the illusion of a larger space.

2. Bright walls.

I left the walls pretty neutral and cream so it felt larger and the space wasn't broken up by any feature wall.

3. Large mirrors.

I obviously wanted to keep things proportionate but adding large mirrors helps reflect the sun from the windows and open up the space. So I went as large as I could with the mirrors.

4. Continuous flooring throughout.

This is an oldy but goody trick to make any space feel larger! Keep a consistent flooring throughout the space to create one large looking space.

As you can see from the images, enclosing the original entryway and creating a bedroom and bath turned out to a great decision for us! It added a lot of extra sq footage, gave the boys a shared bathroom and added a bedroom to our house! We wanted to move the entryway to the front of the house anyways, so it all worked out great!

The bathroom we did on a really tight budget coming around 10K for the entire addition. We had to pour a new cement pad, extend the roof, run sewer lines and plumbing, build new walls, tile, and put in the fixtures.

The vanities and countertops are from Ikea. The flooring is from Floor and Décor and most of the shower tile is from home depot.
