The girls bathroom was a COMPLETE gut job. After taking out the old dingy cabinets, flooring, lighting and scraping the ceilings and walls, we decided in order to make more room in this TINY bathroom, we needed to take out the bohemith built in storage cabinet.

We wanted to stick with the original floorplan as much as possible to save money and time but decided it was TOTALLY worth it to ditch the built in storage and move the toilet to the corner for more privacy and room.

This bathroom is VERY narrow and quite small but there was no option to make it bigger without taking away from the girls bedrooms, so we decided to just stick with the footprint of the original bathroom.

We did however use a few tricks and tips to help this little 10 x 6 bathroom bathroom feel larger, brighter, more modern and spacious. I was going for a very minimal modern and girly vibe in here and I wanted to make the space feel as large as possible Below is the mood board and resources I used to create this bathroom as well as the tips and tricks used to update it!

1. Floating vanity.

Because the room is VERY narrow I wanted to be able to see as much floor as possible to give the illusion of a larger space.

2. Bright walls.

I left most of the walls neutral and cream so it felt larger and only put wallpaper on one wall.

3. Wallpaper feature wall.

I knew I wanted to add some color and fun into this bathroom and I had this giant wall to work with. So I thought wallpaper would be fabulous! I actually chose a paper with a larger pattern on it so it wouldn't feel so busy, but my girls hated it and loved this one, we went with it because I just wanted them to love it!

4. Hiding the toilet.

I knew tearing out the built in storage and moving the toilet to that corner would be ideal for this bathroom, especially since we didn't have room to do a separate toilet room and even if we did, it would have blocked the only window in the bathroom, so that was a no go. It worked out perfectly to move the toilet across the room and tuck it away behind the wall. That also opened up the space where the toilet originally was for some major storage options!

5. Large mirrors.

I obviously wanted to keep things proportionate but adding large mirrors helps reflect the sun from the small window and open up the space. So I went as large as I could with the mirrors.

4. Continuous flooring throughout.

This is an oldy but goody trick to make any space feel larger! Keep a consistent flooring throughout the space to create one large looking space. In here I actually took this one step further and did a very large, white, simple tile to brighten it up even more.

The bathroom we did on a really tight budget coming around 3K for the entire renovation. We gutted the space, ran new plumbing to the toilet, switched the shower head location, did all new tile throughout, new vanities, plumbing fixtures, mirrors , lighting and simple accessories.

The vanities and counter tops are from Ikea. The flooring and shower tile is from Floor and Décor and most of the fixtures are from lowes or build.com.
